Coach Kim Sang-sik is confident in defeating U23 Yemen to secure the top spot in the group.

After the 1-0 win against U23 Singapore in the second round of Group C in the 2026 U23 Asian Championship qualifiers, Coach Kim Sang-sik affirmed his confidence looking forward to the crucial game versus U23 Yemen on September 9.

In the post-match press conference, the Korean strategist shared his special feelings witnessing tens of thousands of fans cheering for the team at the stadium: “Today’s match didn’t have many goals, but the Viet Tri stadium was packed with spectators. I feel happy about that. The passionate support from the fans is a great motivation for the players.”

In the recent match, U23 Vietnam dominated completely and created many good chances but only managed to score once thanks to Van Thuan’s goal. Regarding this, Coach Kim said: “Everyone saw we had numerous dangerous opportunities, but Singapore’s goalkeeper performed excellently. We will continue to improve our finishing to better capitalize on chances in upcoming matches.”
