With Sun Yingsha defeating Szocs 3-1, the WTT Macau Championship women's singles quarterfinals are set: 4 players from China and 1 from Japan.

On September 13th Beijing time, the women's singles round of 16 at the WTT Macau Championship concluded. In the final match, China's world No.1 Sun Yingsha eliminated Szocs 3-1, securing the last spot. As a result, the women's singles quarterfinal lineup is complete, with China claiming 4 places and Japan only one.

Six Chinese women participated, all advancing to the round of 16. However, in the round of 16, Wang Yidi faltered under pressure and was upset 2-3 by Diaz after a tough five-set battle, handing China its first loss in women's singles. Then, rising star Chen Yi faced veteran Han Ying, a defensive chopper, which posed a tough challenge. Chen suffered a heavy 1-3 defeat, even losing a set 2-11, struggling to score and lacking effective countermeasures.

Kuai Man faced Mima Ito; although their skill levels are close and their matches are usually tight, Kuai Man held the upper hand this time, showing clear dominance by defeating Ito 3-1. Except for one lost set, Ito never scored more than 6 points in any set, which was quite ruthless.

Wang Manyu confronted Japanese star Hayata Hina and faced strong resistance. She fell behind twice but managed to adjust at critical moments, gradually showing her own strengths and ultimately achieving a remarkable 3-2 comeback victory. Wang Manyu often endures such tough battles, demonstrating her resilience and consistent performance internationally.

Chen Xingtong dominated against her defeated opponent Doo Hoi Kem, facing little resistance and sweeping 3-0 in straight sets with great momentum.

Sun Yingsha, facing Szocs who has repeatedly challenged China's main players, encountered a strong challenge. Although she won the first set easily, the following three sets were hard-fought. Fortunately, Sun’s superior skills allowed her to take control in the later stages and secure a 3-1 victory.

With this, the quarterfinals lineup is finalized. Japan suffered a heavy blow, leaving only Satsuki Odo to advance from their internal battles, while Zhang Benmiwa, Hayata Hina, and Mima Ito were all eliminated, much to the delight of many. Consequently, fewer China-Japan clashes remain. The quarterfinal matchups are: Kuai Man vs. Satsuki Odo in a China-Japan duel, Wang Manyu vs. Zhu Yuling, Chen Xingtong vs. defensive specialist Han Ying, and Sun Yingsha vs. Diaz!
