Round 4 of V-League: Numerous Matches End in Draws

The initial three games of Round 4 in the 2025/2026 V-League season finished with no team securing victory.

Hanoi FC sought their first win of the new season as they hosted Viettel FC — a team currently in strong form. The aim was not only to earn 3 points to make a strong push back into the top group but also to regain confidence and momentum after a less-than-ideal start.

Hanoi FC demonstrated determination right from the kickoff by trying to control the match and pressuring the opponent who had previously eliminated them from the National Cup. After several chances, Văn Quyết and his teammates celebrated the opening goal scored by Tuấn Hải in the 36th minute. The goal boosted Hanoi FC’s morale, and they created more opportunities but failed to add to the scoreline.

Under coach Popov, Viettel FC showed a warrior spirit that wouldn’t back down. In the second half, they gradually balanced the game and equalized 1-1 through Khuất Văn Khang in the 54th minute.

Neither team wanted a draw since it would cause both to fall behind other competitors on the standings. Therefore, the remainder of the second half was lively and exciting with end-to-end action between Hanoi FC and Viettel FC. However, the match ended 1-1. Hanoi FC still has not secured a win in V.League 1 and remains near the bottom of the table.

Dong A Thanh Hoa FC was determined to claim their first victory of the season when hosting Hai Phong FC. However, the visitors took the lead with two goals in the first half, scored by Antonio and Mạnh Dũng.

Thanh Hoa showed strong fighting spirit in the second half, managing to salvage a valuable point at home. Lê Văn Thuận scored a goal to reduce the deficit in the 51st minute, and in the 78th minute, Mbobji equalized to make it 2-2. Thanh Hoa still remains near the bottom with 2 points, but their determination indicates readiness to push forward soon.

In the remaining match, PVF-CAND FC and SHB Da Nang FC drew 2-2. The draw meant SHB Da Nang still has not won and cannot advance in the race. PVF-CAND, with a late equalizer in the 86th minute, secured a precious point, steadily accumulating to reach the safety zone.
