Ninh Binh Club’s undefeated run keeps going. Yet, their momentum has slowed down compared to earlier as they have drawn several recent matches in a row.
In the first 4 rounds, Ninh Binh Club won all 4 matches impressively, scoring 12 goals and conceding only 2, dominating the top of the standings and being the best team of September. This is a remarkable achievement for a league newcomer! But in the next two rounds, rounds 5 and 6, coach Gerard Albadalejo’s team stalled with 2 draws: a 2-2 draw against Hai Phong Club and most recently a 1-1 draw against The Cong Viettel Club in round 6. In both matches, Ninh Binh scored first but ended up drawing.
In the match against The Cong Viettel Club – also competing for the top spot – Ninh Binh had a double advantage in the first half with a penalty awarded and the opponent playing with one less player (Tien Dung received a red card).
However, Ninh Binh failed to maintain dominance afterward, allowing The Cong Viettel to come back and equalize 1-1 in the second half. This thrilling draw prevented Hoang Duc and his teammates from breaking away in the standings, while their pursuers — including The Cong Viettel — remain close behind.
Hanoi Club has been very notable in recent rounds, securing consecutive wins and signaling signs of overcoming difficulties. After a 2-1 victory over Dong A Club in round 5, they extended their winning streak by defeating SHB Da Nang Club 2-0 in round 6.
These two wins helped Hanoi Club escape the bottom group and closely follow the top teams. With the slow progress of clubs above, Van Quyet and his teammates have an opportunity to close the gap, making the race even more exciting as many contenders cluster near the top of the standings.
At the bottom, Dong A Thanh Hoa Club and Becamex TP.HCM Club drew 1-1 in a match where both teams were eager to win to quickly escape danger. The draw means the Thanh Hoa team still hasn’t won this season. Becamex TP.HCM managed to stop their losing streak.
