U23 Vietnam and U23 Qatar put on an extremely exciting score chase in their rematch, but ultimately our team lost 2-3.
With the goal of experimenting with the squad and giving players as much playing time as possible, acting head coach Đinh Hồng Vinh made several changes to the starting lineup.
U23 Vietnam entered the match with many reserve players such as goalkeeper Nguyễn Tân, and defenders Tuấn Phong and Nam Hải.

In midfield, the overseas Vietnamese player Trần Thành Trung paired with Thái Sơn, while the best young midfielder in the V-League, Văn Thuận, took on the role of leading the attack alongside Long Vũ.
The new lineup of U23 Vietnam quickly received a "cold shower" by conceding two goals in a row during the first half.
Before halftime, striker Văn Thuận from Đông Á Thanh Hóa club scored to narrow the score to 1-2 for the team.
In the second half, coach Đinh Hồng Vinh brought on key players such as Văn Trường, Lý Đức, Quốc Việt, Lê Viktor, Anh Quân... which helped improve U23 Vietnam’s gameplay.
The red-shirted team played with great effort and managed to equalize 2-2 thanks to a goal by Quốc Việt.
However, the scoreline did not stay level for long as in the 79th minute, U23 Vietnam conceded their third goal.
The match ended 2-3, marking U23 Vietnam’s second consecutive defeat to U23 Qatar (after a previous 0-1 loss).
Today, coach Đinh Hồng Vinh and his team will return home. The players will be sent back to their local clubs to continue competing in the V-League and National First Division.
The U23 Vietnam team is expected to regroup in November during FIFA Days for training at Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu Stadium (Ho Chi Minh City).
Additionally, the team will take part in a four-team friendly tournament in China in November 2025 to prepare for the 2026 U23 Asian Championship finals and the 33rd SEA Games.
This tournament features host U23 China along with two other strong U23 teams from the continent, promising a valuable opportunity for coach Kim Sang Sik’s squad to practice tactics, finalize the roster, and gain experience ahead of major upcoming objectives.
