Tiến Linh directly pointed out the reason why the Vietnam national team kept failing to score against Nepal.

According to Tiến Linh, the heavy rain before the match affected the pitch condition and the playing style of both teams on the evening of October 14.

The Vietnam national team struggled to narrowly defeat Nepal 1-0 in the second leg of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Despite controlling the game better and creating more chances, the team only scored a single goal from an own goal by the opposing player.

Speaking about having created no fewer than 20 shots but only scoring once, Tiến Linh stated:"Before the match, there was heavy rain which impacted the pitch and the playing style of both teams. Regarding the many chances created but failure to score, as I mentioned, it was due to poor pitch conditions, with puddles slowing down the ball's speed.

However, today the team played hard and secured 3 points. This victory is dedicated to the fans who braved the rain to support the Vietnam team", the player from Ho Chi Minh City Police shared.

In this match, coach Kim Sang Sik gave opportunities to many young players, including Trung Kiên, Thanh Nhàn, and Hiểu Minh starting from the beginning. In the second half, Đình Bắc and Khuất Văn Khang were also brought on. Regarding the performance of the younger teammates, Tiến Linh encouraged:

"This is a reward for the efforts of the young players recently. Today, the youngsters showed their eagerness to contribute to the national team. In the future, there are many more tournaments. I hope the young players will keep striving and perform well for the national team going forward."
