Following the win against Nepal on the night of October 14, Coach Kim Sang Sik’s squad will briefly part ways to resume the V-League season. They will reunite in November to get ready for the upcoming game versus Laos National Team.
During nearly two weeks of training camp, Coach Kim Sang Sik’s team trained rigorously, securing two victories against Nepal (3-1 and 1-0) in Group F of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
Although the wins were not flawless, Vietnam National Team gained valuable lessons for future gatherings. Additionally, Coach Kim Sang Sik achieved initial success in observing and testing young talents from the U23 squad such as Trung Kiên, Hiểu Minh, Đình Bắc, Thanh Nhàn, Nhật Minh, Phi Hoàng, and others.
Next, the players will return to their clubs to continue preparing for the V-League’s Round 7 matches, scheduled from October 18 to 20. With the advantage of playing "away" at their home stadium, the players won’t spend much time traveling back to their clubs, ensuring their physical condition for the upcoming games.
The players will compete in five more rounds domestically (from Round 7 to Round 11) before regrouping to prepare for the away match against Laos National Team on November 18. It is expected that Coach Kim Sang Sik’s squad will reconvene on November 11, after the final match of Round 11 in the V-League concludes.
Throughout the V-League season, the Korean strategist will keep scouting to discover new, talented players for the Vietnam National Team. This was confirmed by the coach during the press conference after the Nepal match on October 14 evening.
"I am aware that the right-back position has many shortcomings and have considered using U23 players. Soon, the coaching staff will actively attend V-League matches to find more options for the right-back position," Coach Kim shared.
Alongside the Vietnam National Team, the U23 Vietnam squad will also begin training during the November FIFA Days. After finishing the match against Laos National Team, Coach Kim Sang Sik will immediately start working with the youth team to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games and the 2026 U23 Asian Championship.
