AFC delivers the most joyful news to the Vietnam Football Federation

The VFF is shortlisted in the top 3 nominees for the Member Association of the Year Award (Diamond category) at the AFC Awards Riyadh 2025.

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) is honored to be listed among the three member associations nominated for the “Member Association of the Year – Diamond category” at the AFC Awards Riyadh 2025, a prestigious event by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) recognizing outstanding contributions of individuals and organizations within Asian football.

Representing the VFF at the AFC Awards Riyadh 2025 held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, were Mr. Trần Quốc Tuấn – AFC Executive Committee member and VFF President; and Mr. Nguyễn Văn Phú – AFC Medical Committee member and VFF General Secretary.

According to the official nomination list announced by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF), alongside the Chinese Football Association (CFA) and the Football Association of Thailand (FAT), are the three representatives honored in the top 3 for the Member Association of the Year – Diamond category.

This is one of the most significant and prestigious categories of the AFC Annual Awards, designed to honor federations that have made remarkable contributions to the overall development of Asian football. In the Diamond category, the AFC recognizes associations with large-scale operations, professional competition systems, strong youth training networks, and thriving community football movements, as well as effective implementation of AFC and FIFA support projects and programs.

The AFC Awards Riyadh 2025 brings together stars, coaches, referees, and outstanding organizations from Asian football. This event marks the return of this prestigious award after a hiatus caused by the pandemic, reaffirming AFC’s commitment to honoring and promoting the positive values of football across the continent.

The VFF’s presence among the top three outstanding member associations in Asia is proof of the correct direction in the national football development strategy, as well as affirming Vietnam’s growing status, reputation, and role within the Asian football community.

The AFC Awards Riyadh 2025 ceremony will take place on the evening of October 16, 2025, at the King Fahad Cultural Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, starting at 8:00 PM local time (midnight on October 17, Vietnam time).
