According to The Mirror, Man United’s leadership has been having conversations with key squad members to gauge the atmosphere in the dressing room, especially as Ruben Amorim’s future at Old Trafford remains unclear.

The Portuguese tactician has been in charge of the "Red Devils" for nearly a year, taking over from Erik ten Hag in November 2024. However, after finishing last season in 15th place—the club’s worst Premier League finish ever—the revival under Amorim is progressing slower than expected.

This season, Man United continued to disappoint after being knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Grimsby Town, a team competing in the fourth tier. With no away wins yet, the management has started to seek opinions from key players about the current situation.

This development reminded fans of the events a year ago, when Erik ten Hag attended a seven-hour meeting with the club’s leadership shortly before being dismissed.

That meeting included co-owner Joel Glazer, CEO Omar Berrada, sporting director Dan Ashworth, technical director Jason Wilcox, and other senior figures such as Jean-Claude Blanc, Collette Roche, and Roger Bell at Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s office in Knightsbridge.

Ten Hag lasted only three weeks after that fateful meeting. Now, it appears the club’s leadership is approaching a similar scenario as on-field problems continue to mount.

Meanwhile, co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe continues to face questions about Amorim’s future. The Ineos billionaire has publicly supported the Portuguese coach, affirming that he believes Amorim will remain with Manchester United in the near future.

Looking ahead, Man United faces a congested schedule. This weekend, Amorim and his squad will travel to Anfield to face Liverpool in the Premier League’s eighth round.
