A number of Vietnam U23 players showcased excellent displays during the 7th round of the V-League.
With only about 2 months left until SEA Games 33, this tournament represents the most crucial event for Coach Kim Sang Sik for the remainder of 2025. Besides preparing the Vietnam national team for the upcoming match against Laos in November, the Korean strategist is also paying special attention to the young players.
Coach Kim Sang Sik can be satisfied with his players’ performances as many key Vietnam U23 players took the field and scored in the 7th round of the V-League. This is a very positive sign as the mainstays of Vietnam U23 are getting regular playing time and showing quite impressive form.
Coach Kim Sang Sik recently watched the Hanoi vs Ninh Binh match where Quoc Viet made a mark with a spectacular goal sealing the 2-0 victory. The Korean coach couldn’t hide his joy, smiling broadly as he witnessed his protégé score in such an impressive manner.
Just 5 days earlier, in the second friendly between Vietnam U23 and Qatar U23 on October 13, Quoc Viet also scored the equalizer to make it 2-2 with a powerful shot from outside the box. Two goals in five days, both from long-range strikes, indicate that the young HAGL forward is gradually sharpening his killer instinct.
In another match between PVF CAND and Thanh Hoa, two key Vietnam U23 players wearing PVF CAND colors, Xuan Bac and Anh Quan, both found the net in a 2-2 draw. Notably, this was Xuan Bac’s first goal in the V-League, and he is currently one of the best central midfielders in Vietnam U23.
Looking ahead to SEA Games 33, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has proactively planned early preparations for the teams. The U22 Vietnam squad – the core team for SEA Games – has been assembled together with the national team during FIFA Days, and will participate in two international friendly tournaments, the U22 CFA Team China 2024 and 2025, facing many quality opponents.
