An additional U23 Vietnam star brings great news to Coach Kim Sang Sik

Đinh Xuân Tiến has been consistently scoring for Viettel and is showing a very promising comeback.

In the latest match of V-League Round 7, Viettel hosted SHB Đà Nẵng at home. Although the home team was favored, they surprisingly fell behind in the first half. However, in the second half, after Coach Popov brought Đinh Xuân Tiến onto the field, the U23 Vietnam forward immediately shined.

From Pedro’s pass, Đinh Xuân Tiến demonstrated his excellent finishing skills. His one-touch volley stunned the entire Đà Nẵng defense, helping Viettel equalize 1-1 and laying the foundation for Viettel’s comeback to win 2-1. This was also Đinh Xuân Tiến’s second consecutive match scoring a goal.

Previously, in Round 6, Đinh Xuân Tiến made an impact by scoring the equalizer for Thể Công Viettel in a 1-1 draw against Ninh Bình. This goal not only secured an important point for the soldiers’ team but also confirmed the strong comeback of the 2023 U23 Southeast Asia top scorer.

Xuân Tiến is a standout talent from the SLNA academy, having won the U23 Southeast Asia championship twice and earned the top scorer title in 2023. However, his time at SLNA did not see a major breakthrough, as many of his peers had already shined. His loan move to Viettel at the start of the season was hoped to provide a chance to grow and compete in a more challenging environment.

After a quiet start in the 2022 V-League, Xuân Tiến went through a period of gaining experience before improving his goal-scoring ability. Since the 2023 season, this forward and attacking midfielder has scored 9 goals in the country’s top league, showing progress and development potential.

Having been recalled to the U23 Vietnam squad for the October training camp, Đinh Xuân Tiến is making a strong impression on Coach Kim Sang Sik. His two crucial goals in the last two rounds indicate that the former SLNA striker is regaining his scoring instinct and could become U23 Vietnam’s main striker at SEA Games 33.
