Ronaldo is no longer the top player in Saudi Arabia; the rightful successor is clear

Cristiano Ronaldo was the leading goal scorer in the Saudi Pro League during the 2024/25 season, yet he now stands fourth on the scoring list for 2025/26.

The Portuguese superstar joined Al-Nassr at the start of 2023 after leaving Manchester United due to conflicts with coach Erik ten Hag. At 40 years old and regarded as the richest footballer in history, Ronaldo continues to deliver impressive goal-scoring performances, although team trophies have eluded him since moving to Saudi Arabia.

In 112 appearances for Al-Nassr, Ronaldo has scored an impressive 99 goals, proving he remains a formidable goal machine. In the Saudi Pro League2025/26 season, CR7 maintains a goal-per-game ratio with 5 goals in 5 matches. However, this tally only places him fourth in the current top scorer race, as two former Premier Leagueplayers are surging ahead.

Leading the goal charts is Joao Felix, a former Chelsea player who attracted attention by rejecting a return to Benfica to join Al-Nassr last summer, playing alongside Ronaldo. At 25, Felix is in explosive form with 8 goals in 5 matches, including two hat-tricks, the latest against Al-Fateh. Across all competitions, he has netted 11 goals in 10 games.

Close behind is Josh King, who was once on Manchester United’s roster but didn’t get his chance to shine at Old Trafford. The 33-year-old Norwegian striker is making waves in Saudi Arabia with Al-Fateh after five months of stints at Bournemouth, Everton, Watford, Fenerbahce, and Toulouse. King has scored 7 goals in 5 matches, including a hat-trick last weekend in a 4-1 win over Al-Riyadh.

Next above Ronaldo is Julian Quiñones, a Mexican international with 18 caps who currently plays for Al-Qadsiah.
