Goalkeeper Bùi Tiến Dũng shares very good news about his injury situation

The injury sustained by Bùi Tiến Dũng is less serious than anticipated, so he won’t be sidelined for the whole season.

As previously reported, goalkeeper Bùi Tiến Dũng was injured during the Round 7 match of the 2025/26 V-League between Thể Công Viettel and SHB Đà Nẵng on the evening of October 20. After rushing out to block the ball, the 1997-born keeper seemed to land incorrectly and had to leave the field on a stretcher just 15 minutes into the game.

Initially, on the morning of October 21, SHB Đà Nẵng club took the goalkeeper for an MRI scan to assess the injury, which revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee. It was expected that Bùi Tiến Dũng would need surgery and face a recovery period of at least 6 to 9 months, meaning he would likely miss the remainder of the 2025/26 V-League season.

However, the actual injury to Bùi Tiến Dũng is not as severe as initially thought. According to the latest updates, the goalkeeper from Thanh Hóa only suffered a partial ligament tear and can recover through conservative treatment, which means surgery is not necessary.

Therefore, his time away from the pitch will be shortened. The SHB Đà Nẵng goalkeeper is likely to require only 6 to 8 weeks of rehabilitation before returning to play. This is great news for the fans of the Han River team, as Bùi Tiến Dũng is an irreplaceable pillar in goal.

As an indispensable key player in the Han River club’s goal, Bùi Tiến Dũng played a major role in helping SHB Đà Nẵng avoid relegation last season, notably with an outstanding performance against Bình Phước in the play-off match.
