The Vietnam women's team is actively training and planning practice matches before heading to Japan for training camp.
Entering the second week of the third training camp of 2025, at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center, the national women's team, led by head coach Mai Duc Chung, is maintaining advanced physical conditioning combined with tactical and technical drills to best prepare for SEA Games 33.
Coach Mai Duc Chung stated that the national women's team is expected to play two friendly matches against Ho Chi Minh City women's club (currently training at the center to prepare for the 2025/26 Asian Women's Club Championship) on November 1 and 4. The weather in Hanoi in late October is quite favorable for training, with an average temperature around 20°C, helping players maintain good fitness and enthusiastic spirit in every session.
Sharing about this training camp, defender Tran Thi Thu said: “The training volume is greater than the previous camp, so the team's fitness and skills have shown positive improvements. Every day we have new and exciting exercises. Coach Mai Duc Chung emphasizes that we are in a tough group, so the whole team must prepare thoroughly for the upcoming SEA Games. The young players are adapting well, and opportunities are fairly distributed among everyone. Anyone who tries their best can be selected to compete.”
Meanwhile, young midfielder Ngoc Minh Chuyen shared: “I am 21 years old this year and still need to learn from the senior players. In the team, we focus heavily on physical fitness and tactical skills. Coach Mai Duc Chung always stresses that Southeast Asian players need to prioritize fitness and train rigorously to advance further. I will strive to adapt better to the professional competition intensity to contribute to the team in the future.”
With high concentration and a strong desire to perform, the national women's team is gradually improving their fitness and tactics, ready for the friendly matches in early November as well as aiming for the SEA Games and major goals in 2026.
According to the plan, the national women's team will have a training camp in Japan from November 20 to 30. Before departure, Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team plan to have one or two more practice matches to continue refining their performance.
