The President of the Football Association of Thailand issued an apology letter to the Vietnam Football Federation and its President.
Tonight (October 28), Madam Nualphan Lamsam (Madam Pang), President of the Football Association of Thailand, on behalf of the association, sent a letter to the Vietnam Football Federation and its President Trần Quốc Tuấn to apologize for the incorrect Vietnamese flag displayed during the draw ceremony of the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Men's Futsal Championship.
In the letter, Madam Pang wrote: “On behalf of the Football Association of Thailand, I would like to express my deepest regret and sincere apologies for the unfortunate incident involving the incorrect placement of the Vietnamese flag during the draw ceremony of the 2025 Southeast Asian U19 Men's Futsal Championship, held in Thailand on October 28, 2025.”
The President of the Football Association of Thailand expressed deep sorrow over the incident because “this in no way reflects the respect and appreciation that the Thai Federation holds for all member associations and their national symbols. We fully acknowledge the seriousness of this error and take complete responsibility for the oversight.”
Madam Pang confirmed that the Football Association of Thailand immediately implemented corrective measures, reviewed, and strengthened event organization procedures to ensure such mistakes will never happen again.
“The Football Association of Thailand sincerely apologizes to the Vietnam Football Federation, the ASEAN Football Federation, and all parties involved for this matter.” She also expressed hope to have the opportunity to personally apologize to VFF President Trần Quốc Tuấn in the near future.
“The Football Association of Thailand and I personally deeply appreciate your continued understanding and support, and we reaffirm our strong commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and respect in all AFF events hosted by the Thai Football Association.” - Madam Pang wrote in the letter.
