Amorim fiercely responds to Ronaldo's criticism of MU

Cristiano Ronaldo criticized Manchester United, but coach Ruben Amorim fired back strongly, insisting the Red Devils are not the same as before.

Coach Ruben Amorim spoke out in response to the latest attacks from Cristiano Ronaldo targeting Manchester United. During the press conference before the match against Tottenham, the Portuguese manager remained calm yet firm, affirming that the Red Devils have acknowledged past mistakes and are undergoing a strong rebuild. Amorim emphasized that the club must look forward instead of dwelling on old stories.

Amorim stated: “Of course, he knows the impact of everything he says. But what we need to focus on is the future. We are aware the club made many mistakes in the past and are working hard to change that.” According to him, Manchester United is currently improving everything from organizational structure and working style to players’ attitudes, aiming to become a more united team.

The Red Devils’ coach believes change takes time, but Man Utd has clearly started transforming after a period of instability. Amorim added: “Don’t focus on what has happened. We need to look ahead, concentrate on how we work, and improve day by day.” His remarks are seen as a confirmation that Manchester United still holds the ambition to return to the top.

Earlier, Cristiano Ronaldo expressed disappointment with his former club during an interview with Piers Morgan. He said: “I’m saddened by the club; it’s one of the most important teams in the world and I always keep them in my heart. But Manchester United currently lacks a clear structure.” Ronaldo asserted that the Red Devils have lost the foundation that once produced golden generations in the past.

Ronaldo also showed sympathy for Amorim, believing the fellow Portuguese coach is facing an extremely tough challenge. He commented: “He’s doing his best. But what can he do? Miracles don’t happen. In Portugal, we say ‘Miracles only happen in Fatima’... And he won’t be able to perform a miracle.” These words both express empathy and skepticism about Man Utd’s future.

Nonetheless, Ruben Amorim remains confident and optimistic. He believes that with the right strategy, Manchester United will regain its rightful status in European football.
