Jurgen Klopp is expected to return to Anfield as the Liverpool Legends take on Borussia Dortmund in a charity game hosted by the LFC Foundation in March 2026.
Fans of Liverpool will soon witness a special reunion as the Liverpool Legends team hosts Borussia Dortmund in the LFC Foundation charity match, scheduled for March 28, 2026, at Anfield. This event is not only a sporting occasion but also evokes deep memories of Jurgen Klopp, the coach closely connected to both prestigious clubs.
According to plans, the match will bring together former stars of both teams as part of the annual fundraising program organized by the LFC Foundation for Liverpool's charity. Serving as the foundation’s first honorary ambassador, Jurgen Klopp could very well appear once again on Anfield’s pitch in a day full of emotion.
When receiving this honor in 2024, Klopp stated: “The LFC Foundation has done amazing work for the Liverpool community and beyond the UK. I am very proud to continue supporting them.”
The legacy Klopp left at Liverpool remains significant. Over nine years leading the Merseyside club, he helped the Reds win the 2019 Champions League and ended a 30-year wait for the Premier League title. Previously, at Dortmund, the German coach led the Ruhr team to back-to-back Bundesliga championships (2010/11 and 2011/12), establishing a distinctive fiery football style.
This legendary match also recalls the thrilling quarter-final clash between the two teams in the 2016 Europa League, where Dejan Lovren’s last-minute goal secured Liverpool’s 5-4 aggregate victory and progression.
According to Matt Parish, CEO of the LFC Foundation, all proceeds from the match will be donated to the community funds of the LFC Foundation, Forever Reds, and the BVB Foundation, supporting social, educational, and healthcare projects in the Merseyside and Ruhr regions.
Tickets for the match have been released, priced between £9.5 and £59.5, and are expected to sell out quickly as fans look forward to seeing Jurgen Klopp back at “his home” Anfield, where he wrote glorious chapters in Liverpool’s history.
