All 23 players summoned to the Vietnam national team this November will be included in the roster for the game versus Laos.
On November 6th, head coach Kim Sang Sik announced the list of 23 players for the Vietnam national team to prepare for the match against Laos in the second leg of the final round of the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. The team will gather on November 10th in Viet Tri (Phu Tho) and is expected to travel to Laos on November 15th.
With a complete list of 23 players, Coach Kim Sang Sik will not need to cut any names since the squad meets the exact number required by the competition rules. All will be registered to play in the match against Laos on November 18th.
Previously, during the October training camp, Coach Kim Sang Sik called up 24 players to prepare for two matches against Nepal in the Asian Cup qualifiers. Later, Quang Hai withdrew due to injury, leaving the squad at the required 23 players. In the match against Malaysia in June, the Vietnam team also called up a full squad of 23 players.
During the FIFA Days in March, Vietnam played a friendly against Cambodia and a qualifier against Laos. Coach Kim Sang Sik called up 26 players, but three – Nguyen Thai Son, Trinh Xuan Hoang, and Tran Bao Toan – were ultimately not registered for either game.
Compared to the most recent call-up, this list includes two newcomers: center-back Khong Minh Gia Bao (Ho Chi Minh City Police FC) and forward Nguyen Tran Viet Cuong (Becamex Ho Chi Minh City FC) — fresh faces expected to bring youthful energy to the team. Additionally, fans received good news with the return of forward Nguyen Xuan Son to the squad after nearly a year off for injury treatment.
It is still uncertain whether Xuan Son will play in the match against Laos as the naturalized forward has fully recovered from injury but has not yet played any official matches. It is likely that Xuan Son will be given playing time in the final minutes to regain match rhythm with his teammates on the Vietnam national team.
