Having missed SEA Games once due to injury, Trần Thị Duyên hopes to join the team for this competition alongside the Vietnam women’s national team.
Despite the recent weather changes in Hanoi, the Vietnam women’s national team has maintained a steady training pace, preparing well for the upcoming SEA Games 33.
Regarding this training camp, defender Trần Thị Duyên shared: “This training session follows immediately after the National Championship, so over the past three weeks, the entire team has kept up good training and match conditions. The two friendly matches against Ho Chi Minh City women’s club, which includes tall foreign players, provided us valuable experience facing physically superior opponents.”
Speaking about the regional competition, the 2000-born defender from Phong Phú Hà Nam club said: “I’m very happy to return to the national team and will give my best effort to secure a spot for SEA Games 33. Previously, I was called up to prepare for SEA Games but missed the chance due to injury. That’s why this time I’m even more determined to participate and contribute to the team.”
According to the plan, on November 16, the Vietnam women’s national team will travel to Việt Trì (Phú Thọ) to continue training before heading to Japan for a training camp. This is a crucial period for the team to improve fitness, technical and tactical skills, and adapt to international competition environments.
In women’s football, Vietnam’s women’s national team is placed in Group B alongside Myanmar, Malaysia, and the Philippines. According to the schedule at Chonburi stadium, coach Mai Đức Chung’s team will face Malaysia on December 5, the Philippines on December 8, and conclude the group stage against Myanmar on December 11.
The top two teams in the group will advance to the semifinals on December 14 at either Chonburi or TNSU Chonburi stadium, depending on the host Thailand’s results. The final and third-place matches will be held on December 17 at Chonburi stadium.
