The reigning Premier League champions were defeated 4-1 at Anfield by PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League on Wednesday — marking their ninth loss in the last 12 matches across all competitions.
The stands cleared as disappointed fans left the stadium in large numbers during the final stages of the game.
Now Liverpool are set to visit a revitalized West Ham this Sunday, eager to climb up from their current 12th position in the Premier League standings.
Slot, who guided Liverpool to the Premier League title last season in his debut campaign, expressed confidence in his job security following Wednesday's loss.
He held a press briefing on Thursday to preview his team's upcoming match against West Ham, who appear transformed under new coach Nuno Espirito Santo.
At the start of the press conference, the Dutchman was asked if he had spoken to the club’s owners since the PSV defeat.
"The conversations have been consistent since I arrived," he responded.
"We keep fighting. We all strive to get better. But the talks have remained the same as they have for the past eighteen months."
Slot acknowledged that Liverpool’s standards have declined but emphasized he does not feel disappointed by his players.
"We believe we can perform better than we currently do," he stated. "Last season, when we performed exceptionally, much attention was placed on certain players, but I always maintained it should be about the team, because the team makes individuals shine.
"And if things are going poorly, we should also focus on the team rather than singling out individuals."
