Chelsea have won their last three matches and dominated Barcelona 3-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday.

However, Arsenal, who defeated their local rivals Tottenham Hotspur last weekend, are resolved to keep up their relentless momentum as they pursue their first Premier League title since 2004, Arteta said to the press on Friday.

"After beating Spurs, we needed to send a message against Bayern Munich, and we accomplished that. Now we must focus on the next challenge," the manager stated.

"This is a major match, a significant London derby. We will face a very strong opponent in excellent form. We understand the challenge and the opportunity ahead. We are completely prepared."

Arteta mentioned that Chelsea, who have made a strong league recovery after defeats to Manchester United and Brighton & Hove Albion in September, rightfully belong in the title contention.

"Considering their squad depth, quality, and the expertise of their manager and coaching staff, their position makes perfect sense and is very positive. They deserve to be contenders," the Spaniard added.

Consistency is crucial for the Gunners

Arsenal, who drew their last two matches at Stamford Bridge, hope that Leandro Trossard will be available on Sunday after the Belgian forward sustained an injury against Bayern, Arteta confirmed.

"Leo will undergo another assessment today. We need to monitor how he feels. It doesn’t appear serious. We still have some hours, so we must wait and see. There is a possibility,” he explained.

Arteta emphasized the importance for his players, unbeaten across all competitions since August, to keep up their consistent performances.

"It’s not that they surprised me, but maintaining the high individual performance levels over extended periods against our rivals is very challenging," he added.

"Now the goal is to carry that same consistency into Sunday’s match to secure another win."
