Bodo/Glimt had won the title in the previous two seasons, while Viking had not claimed the championship since 1991.
Overall, Viking, established in 1899, has now secured the Norwegian league title nine times.
Viking's squad includes Peter Christiansen and Anders Bærtelsen, both of whom contributed to Sunday’s triumph. Peter Christiansen played the full match, whereas Anders Bærtelsen entered the game in the final 15 minutes.
At Vålerenga, Danish players Oscar Hedvall, Elias Sørensen, Carl Lange, and Kevin Tshiembe featured in the game. However, none of the six Danish players on the field managed to score.
During the first half, Norwegians Edvin Austbo, Martin Ove Roseth, and captain Zlatko Tripic found the net for the home side.
Valerenga sparked some hope five minutes into the second half when Elias Hagen narrowed the gap to 1-3.
Nonetheless, the visitors failed to reduce the deficit any further.
Kristoffer Haugen and Kristoffer Askildsen also scored for Viking, resulting in five different Norwegian goal scorers for the team.
Bodo/Glimt ended their season with a 5-0 home victory over Fredrikstad, where substitute Mathias Jorgensen netted the final goal.
