Vietnam U17 was awarded 600 million VND following their success in the 2026 AFC U17 qualifying rounds.
Vietnam U17 impressively completed their 2026 AFC U17 qualifying campaign with a 4-0 victory over Malaysia in what was regarded as the final match of Group C. Advancing with a perfect record of five wins, scoring 30 goals and conceding none, the Vietnam U17 team delivered one of the most outstanding performances throughout the qualifiers.
After the match between Vietnam U17 and Malaysia U17 ended with a 4-0 win, on behalf of the Vietnam Football Federation Executive Committee, Chairman Tran Quoc Tuan congratulated the Vietnam U17 team for their excellent achievement of qualifying for the 2026 AFC U17 Championship as Group C winners with four straight wins, and rewarded the entire team with 600 million VND.
During the 2026 AFC U17 qualifiers, the Vietnam U17 team kept a clean sheet and scored a total of 30 goals. This achievement reflects thorough preparation over the past period, as the VFF continued to invest heavily in youth training immediately after the 2025 AFC U17 Championship, aiming for future competitions.
The match against Malaysia U17 on the evening of November 30 was considered the “final” of Group C since both teams had 12 points before the game, but Vietnam U17 only needed a draw to advance due to a superior goal difference. However, the team exceeded expectations by winning convincingly 4-0.
At this tournament, Vietnam U17 received much praise from fans for their attractive teamwork and the emergence of many promising players. The outstanding performance of Coach Cristiano Roland’s team is the most meaningful gift to loyal supporters and a solid foundation for bigger goals ahead, targeting the 2034 World Cup.
Alongside the national U17 men’s team, previously the national women’s team, U23 national team, men’s futsal national team, U20 women’s team, and U17 women’s team have all secured qualification to the 2026 AFC Championships.
