Patrik Lê Giang, goalkeeper of Ho Chi Minh City Police FC, shared his pride and deep feelings as he gets closer to officially becoming a Vietnamese citizen, realizing his lifelong dream.
Goalkeeper Patrik Lê Giang of Ho Chi Minh City Police FC is very close to a significant milestone in his career and life—officially becoming a Vietnamese citizen. For him, this is not merely an administrative procedure but a journey of dedication and connection to the land that has become his “second home.”
Talking about the process supported by his club for citizenship, Patrik Lê Giang emotionally said: “I truly appreciate the help from the club. For me, gaining citizenship is not just about football but also a deep bond with Vietnam and my roots. Knowing the team always supports me gives me more confidence and motivation to strive every day.”
According to Patrik Lê Giang, the procedure is progressing smoothly. He has waited nearly three years for this moment and trusts everything will be completed soon. “I am patient and confident that the day will come in the near future,” he shared.
When asked about his emotions if he becomes a Vietnamese citizen, the goalkeeper born in 1992 could not hide his pride: “Becoming a Vietnamese citizen and representing the country has been my biggest dream since I arrived here. Vietnam has become my home. I feel a strong connection with the culture, people, and football here.”
Not only showing impressive performance on the field, Patrik Lê Giang has also won the hearts of fansthrough his friendliness, professionalism, and approachability. In the 2025/26 season, he started in 11 matches for Ho Chi Minh City Police FC, helping the team maintain a stable position in the V.League.
When asked about the possibility of joining the Vietnam national team, Patrik Lê Giang said he is always ready: “If one day I have the chance to compete for a spot on the national team, I will give my all. Representing Vietnam is the greatest honor a player can have.”
Affirming a long-term future in the S-shaped land, Patrik Lê Giang expressed his desire to contribute to Vietnamese football not only as a player but also as an inspiration: “I want to be a positive role model and an example for young players. Vietnam has now become an inseparable part of my life.”
