FC Fredericia caused a minor upset at Brondby Stadium on Monday evening.
The visitors had been on an eight-match losing streak before the game but still managed to claim all three points with a 3-1 victory.
Fredericia initially trailed 0-1 but fought back and eventually gained a two-player advantage after red cards were shown to Marko Divkovic and Noah Nartey.
The first ten minutes gave little hint of the final outcome as Brondby controlled the game and took a deserved lead after 13 minutes when Nicolai Vallys entered the Fredericia penalty area and crossed for 17-year-old Jacob Ambaek, who had an easy finish to put the home team ahead early on.
Though outmatched, the visitors remained dangerous on counters and leveled the score when Oscar Buch struck the crossbar, and the ball deflected off goalkeeper Patrick Pentz’s back into the net after 23 minutes.

The equalizer clearly boosted the visitors’ confidence, and just before halftime, they took a surprising lead when Oscar Buch headed in a corner kick.
Despite this setback, Brondby started the second half energetically and launched several dangerous attacks against Fredericia’s defensive setup.
Ambaek nearly equalized within minutes, and both he and Benjamin Tahirovic tested goalkeeper Mattias Lamhauge with strong long-range shots.
With 20 minutes remaining, the match shifted dramatically as Marko Divkovic fouled substitute William Madsen and was shown a red card.
Brondby were then outnumbered, and the game was decided when Madsen set up Eskild Dall, who easily scored to make it 3-1.
Ultimately, Brondby was reduced to nine players when Noah Nartey received a red card for a reckless challenge on Oscar Buch.
