Dropping points against Buriram, CAHN faces difficulty advancing past Shopee Cup group stage

Football result - A late error led CAHN to drop a win against Buriram United, thereby narrowing their opportunity to advance from the Shopee Cup group stage in the 2025/26 season.

The first half of the match between Buriram United and CAHN started at a high tempo right from the early minutes. At the 3rd minute, Quang Hải had a chance to open the score but failed to beat goalkeeper Chatchai. However, it didn’t take long before the visitors celebrated a goal.

At the 10th minute, CAHN took the lead when Leo Artur combined well with Stefan Mauk and finished accurately into the far corner.

Buriram responded with a dangerous attempt in the 16th minute, but Bissoli’s shot went over the bar despite a good opportunity. CAHN then continued to create notable attacks, with Leo Artur trying his luck with a curl shot at the 18th minute and a chip shot at the 19th minute, both unsuccessful.

At the 24th minute, CAHN was forced to make a substitution due to Hugo Gomes’ injury, with Trần Đình Trọng coming on. This result significantly reduces CAHN’s chances of advancing from the group stage as they have only five points after four matches, sitting 4th in group A. Meanwhile, Buriram’s situation is even worse, with the defending champions just below CAHN and seemingly out of contention to progress.
