He also referred to two injury concerns that might affect his tactical decisions, though he chose not to disclose their names, while defender Harry Maguire and forward Benjamin Sesko are still out of action.
"We have two uncertain players for the match but I won’t reveal who today," Amorim stated on Wednesday.
"It will influence our strategy, let's wait and see if they can participate. The rest of the squad is healthy. Matheus has returned. Harry and Sesko remain unavailable."
The comeback of the energetic Cunha, who missed two matches due to a head injury, is a significant advantage for United, currently placed seventh, three points behind the top four.
The 26-year-old Cunha is visibly excited to be back, sharing a photo on social media in full training gear at Carrington, captioned: "Back back back."
Cunha has potential to improve further
Amorim mentioned that United supporters have yet to witness the best performance from the forward, who was one of the key signings during the off-season.
"He has more levels to reach. He’s at a new club with different pressures. He struggled because he wasn’t scoring and faced social media criticism. He was overthinking the stats, but his impact on the team is vital to us," Amorim explained.
"I believe he has a lot of room to grow both offensively and defensively."
United’s French defender Leny Yoro gave away a penalty in their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace last weekend and was taken off after 53 minutes.
He appeared upset on the bench, but Amorim feels the 20-year-old must stop being so hard on himself after errors.
"I also talked to him because he overthinks, makes a mistake, and then struggles," Amorim said. "He wants to perform perfectly. He’s developing through matches and setbacks; it’s not easy for a young player.
"He can’t show his frustration like he did on the bench, he knows that. It shows he cares and understands it wasn’t his best performance. He is fit and ready for the next challenge."
Amorim got positive news with FIFA’s decision to reduce the release period for players attending this month’s Africa Cup of Nations from 14 days before their team’s first match to seven.
This means Amad Diallo (Ivory Coast) and Bryan Mbeumo (Cameroon), whose teams play on December 24th, should be available for United’s home fixture against Bournemouth on December 15th.
