Having collected just two points from their first 13 PL matches, Wolves entered the game as one of three teams in Europe’s top five leagues yet to record a league win this season.
As expected, it was the visitors who took the initiative at Molineux, with Jesus and Dan Ndoye both missing headers on target while well-positioned inside the box.
Eager to build on a commanding first 30 minutes, the Tricky Trees continued to search for a breakthrough as halftime approached.
Nevertheless, despite dominating possession in the attacking third, clear chances were scarce for Sean Dyche’s squad, with Jesus having a close-range header disallowed for offside against Ndoye.
Thankful to remain level, Wolves stepped up after the break and should have taken the lead, but Jhon Arias headed wastefully wide from just eight yards out.
That narrow escape reignited the visitors, as Neco Williams had a curling free-kick brilliantly saved by Sam Johnstone, who also denied Omari Hutchinson soon after.
Unfazed, Forest’s persistent pressure finally paid off in the 72nd minute when Hutchinson’s inviting cross was met by Jesus, who outjumped Johnstone to head his first-ever PL goal into the net.

Facing the prospect of an eighth straight loss, Rob Edwards’ side tried to increase the pressure in search of a late equalizer.
Substitute Matheus Mané misfired a shot across the goal from a promising position, before Marshall Munetsi had a weak attempt comfortably saved by Matz Sels.
In the end, it was Forest who held firm in the final moments to claim their third win in four PL games, while Wolves’ home league winless streak stretches to nine matches (D2, L7).
