On December 4th Beijing time, the AFC confirmed that China will be the host for the 2027 U-20 Asian Cup. Being the only applicant, China will organize the tournament back-to-back.
The 2025 U-20 Asian Cup was successfully held in Shenzhen from February 12 to March 1 this year. The Chinese U-20 men's team, playing at home, advanced as the second in their group but lost 0-1 to Saudi Arabia in the quarterfinals, missing out on the semifinals and failing to qualify for the U-20 World Cup for the ninth consecutive AFC U-20 Championship.
The qualifiers for the 2027 U-20 Asian Cup will start in August 2026, with the final tournament scheduled for March 2027. As in previous editions, the final stage will serve as the pathway for Asian teams to qualify for the 2027 U-20 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
