United are currently eighth in the Premier League, just two points shy of the top four, but their position could have been much stronger if they had not failed to hold leads against Tottenham and Nottingham Forest in recent matches.
Amorim's squad also suffered a 1-0 home defeat to Everton despite having a numerical advantage for nearly the entire game at Old Trafford in their previous fixture.
"We should have finished the match with possession because the chance to win was there," Amorim stated.
"The match was controlled. We knew we had to defend far from our penalty area since set-pieces could cause issues.
"We failed to do that, couldn’t keep hold of the ball, and once again we dropped two points."
Diogo Dalot put United ahead just before the 60th minute, but Amorim appeared clearly frustrated after Soungoutou Magassa equalized from a corner seven minutes before the end.
"I think the overall display wasn’t flawless. We had our chances but lost control at times in the first half and again in the second half, especially after scoring," Amorim added.
"It’s very frustrating because when you look at the game, we had it under control but failed to secure the win."
