Baleba's transfer fee has plummeted, and Manchester United hesitates on the purchase! Amrabat's relationship with the new star is on the verge of collapse.

Ruben Amrabat insists that mastering the midfield is key for Manchester United's genuine resurgence. Speculation about which midfielders United will acquire by 2026 has been widespread in the football world. What is clear is that unless United shells out more than £100 million, Nottingham Forest's Elliott Anderson and Crystal Palace's Adam Walton won't be signed in January, and Wolves' João Gomes cannot move in the winter transfer period. However, the price of Brighton's Carlos Baleba has significantly dropped.

Last summer, Manchester United reached a personal agreement with the 21-year-old Cameroonian international Baleba, but Brighton set his price at £120 million. Initially, it was believed that Baleba’s future transfer fee would exceed £100 million, but his performance this season has sharply declined, so his transfer fee will be much lower.

According to Germany's "TZ," Baleba's transfer fee has now fallen to £75 million. German media are paying attention to Baleba mainly because Bayern Munich is interested in him, with Kompany looking for a replacement for Goretzka.

The German media say Bayern can acquire Baleba for €85 million. Of course, whether the price would be the same if sold to a Premier League club remains to be seen, but it is undeniable that Baleba’s performance has devalued him.

Additionally, the UK's Daily Telegraph reports that Brighton has identified Aston Villa’s Ramare Bogarde as a suitable replacement for Baleba, indicating that the "Seagulls" are willing to sell Baleba next year to secure a desirable transfer fee.

However, whether Manchester United still considers Baleba a priority signing is now questionable. Given Baleba’s performance this season, doubts exist about how much impact he would have on the team. Especially after his summer transfer failure and subsequent slump, his professionalism has been criticized. Can such a player handle the immense pressure of playing for Manchester United?

It is no longer surprising that talented players fail to perform after transferring to Manchester United. Many who once proved themselves at Old Trafford suddenly fade away—Rashford is an example, and now Cody Menou is experiencing the same. The latter’s relationship with coach Ruben Amrabat is nearly broken.

The Daily Mail reports that Menou is very confused by Amrabat’s treatment of him, and the coaching staff have noticed changes in the 20-year-old English midfielder’s training performance. The paper comments: Menou and his supporters believe there is no reason to exclude him, but Amrabat finds the excessive focus on one player even stranger. Ultimately, Amrabat distrusts Menou, whose lack of playing time affects his training and discourages other academy players.

Due to insufficient playing opportunities at Manchester United, Menou has every reason to request a transfer. Moreover, as long as Amrabat remains head coach, Menou’s future at United looks bleak. The 40-year-old Portuguese coach’s position is secure, and despite the team's fluctuating results, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the INEOS group continue to back him. This means Menou’s departure next year is almost inevitable.

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano told "GIVEMESPORT": "Currently, Amrabat’s status remains unchanged. At this stage of the season, Manchester United still supports the coach's work."
