The Argentine legend showed his composure in the second half by assisting two goals during the 3-1 victory over Vancouver Whitecaps at Chase Stadium on Sunday morning.
This brilliant form capped off a historic 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs for Messi, as he set a new record for a playoff season with 15 goal involvements (6 goals, 9 assists).
Messi, along with teammate Rodrigo De Paul and Spanish legend Sergio Busquets, also reached a special milestone by becoming the first World Cup champions to win the MLS Cup. In the final, they defeated Vancouver, which featured German World Cup winner and Bayern Munich icon Thomas Müller.
This is Messi’s third title with Inter Miami since joining the club in July 2023, following the 2023 Leagues Cup and the 2024 Supporters’ Shield. The 38-year-old legend now holds 47 club and international trophies, continuing to extend his unprecedented record.
Recently, Messi extended his contract with Inter Miami until 2028 and will continue pursuing new milestones at the new Miami Freedom Park stadium from next season.
