According to the TTXVN reporter in Bangkok, right after congratulating the team on their smooth start, Head Nguyễn Hồng Minh took time to listen, share, and especially emphasize the young team’s sense of responsibility. He stressed: “You are carrying the trust and hopes of the fans. Stay determined, play with all your heart, and demonstrate the spirit of fair play – an image that Vietnamese football is always proud of.”
He also conveyed that the SEA Games is not only about winning medals but also an opportunity to show resilience, dedication, and leave a positive impression on regional friends.
On behalf of the whole team, captain Khuất Văn Khang expressed gratitude for the attention from the Vietnam Sports Delegation leaders and affirmed that U22 Vietnam is “fully focused on the match against U22 Malaysia” with a strong determination to secure victory.
On the morning of December 7th, the U22 Vietnam team maintained their physical training volume in the gym to ensure the best foundation. In the afternoon, the entire team went out to the training field with high concentration, preparing for what is regarded as the “Group B final” on December 11th.

Not only did U22 Vietnam study their opponent through video footage, but they also went directly to the stadium to watch U22 Malaysia’s opening match. The opponent’s powerful 4-1 victory made Coach Kim Sang Sik’s team even more cautious.
Center-back Nhật Minh shared: “The Malaysian team plays very physically and fast. However, we have analyzed them thoroughly and will focus fully in the upcoming training sessions. Both teams have 3 points, so the chance is 50-50. The team with stronger composure will win. And I believe U22 Vietnam is well prepared to achieve that.”
This confidence is further strengthened by U22 Vietnam’s recent positive results in important head-to-head matches.
