Rasmus Hojlund stood out with a double goal, leading Napoli to a 2-1 victory over Juventus, while sharing that his scoring came from modifying his positioning in the penalty area as advised by manager Antonio Conte.
Rasmus Hojlund became Napoli’s hero in the 2-1 win against Juventus at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium, ending a two-month goal drought with an impressive brace. After the match, the Danish forward revealed he improved his movement inside the box thanks to valuable advice from Antonio Conte’s coaching staff.
“There are times when a striker doesn’t score, so I try to help the team in other ways—holding the ball, pressing, and creating space. Today I scored twice, but the credit goes to my teammates, the coach, and the entire coaching staff,” Hojlund shared with DAZN Italia.
Both of Hojlund’s goals came from smart movements inside the box. He revealed the secret: “Gianluca and the assistants advised me to change my movement. Previously, I usually positioned myself at the far post, but they told me to attack the space in front. I followed their advice and it worked, so I’m very happy.”
Amid Napoli’s midfield personnel crisis, Coach Antonio Conte was forced to switch to a 3-4-2-1 formation, with David Neres and Noa Lang supporting behind Hojlund. This adjustment revitalized the attacking line of the Southern Italian club.
Captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo praised Hojlund’s performance after the match: “We played with high intensity and passion. I’m very happy for Rasmus; he not only scored but also fought hard for the team.”
Notably, Hojlund is currently playing for Napoli on loan from Manchester United and seems to have truly settled in with the new club. When asked about his future, he smiled: “Next season, I will answer interviews in Italian.”
With this victory, Napoli continues their streak of 7 consecutive home wins against Juventus in Serie A, a record that confirms the status and fighting spirit of Antonio Conte’s team.
