The visitors quickly responded, and just 8 minutes later, Konstantinos Mavropanos accidentally headed into his own net while trying to clear, leveling the score at 1-1 for Aston Villa.

However, West Ham regained control when Jarrod Bowen showcased his skill with a decisive turn and shot inside the box at the 24th minute, making it 2-1.
