According to "Turkish Football," Turkish Super Lig giant Fenerbahçe has taken active steps to sign the English winger Jadon Sancho, who is currently on loan from Manchester United to Aston Villa. This move reportedly comes at the special request of Fenerbahçe’s new coach Domenico Tedesco, who desires a fast winger with strong attacking capabilities.

Turkish media report that the three top clubs in the Super Lig — Galatasaray, Fenerbahçe, and Beşiktaş — are all interested in Sancho, with Fenerbahçe being the most proactive. Club president Saddettin Saran is determined to strengthen the squad according to Tedesco’s demands, making the signing of a winger their top priority. Fenerbahçe has placed the 25-year-old Sancho at the top of their transfer list, aware that he wants to leave Villa. Rumors suggest tensions have arisen between him and coach Emery.
Sancho’s contract with Manchester United runs until the summer of 2026, and United is willing to sell him at a low price, with a minimum fee of £5 million, since the club would receive no transfer fee if waiting until next summer. According to FIFA transfer regulations, Sancho can begin negotiating freely with foreign clubs starting in January and even sign a preliminary agreement to join on a free transfer in the summer window.
Fenerbahçe’s management has requested a meeting with Sancho’s agent, hoping to persuade him to move to Istanbul during the winter transfer window. The Turkish club plans to secure Sancho for a reasonable transfer fee, believing the player’s desire for a new challenge will facilitate negotiations.
Sancho is currently on loan at Villa but has had limited opportunities under Emery. Statistics show that although Sancho has appeared 13 times, he has played only 529 minutes in total, never starting in the Premier League, and has yet to record any goals or assists.

Villa is currently in excellent form, having won nine consecutive matches and sitting third in the Premier League table, just one point behind leaders Arsenal and three behind second-placed Manchester City. However, the team’s success has little to do with Sancho, who has mostly watched his teammates from the sidelines.
In last Thursday’s Europa League match against Basel, Sancho started but performed poorly. When substituted, he angrily punched a seat on the bench. His reaction was criticized by former Aston Villa scout Brian King, who said, "In my view, Sancho doesn’t seem to want to stay at Villa. If that’s the case, well, good luck to him."
Villa pulled off an incredible 3-2 comeback win over West Ham United this weekend, achieving their ninth straight victory, but Sancho spent the full 90 minutes on the bench, reflecting Emery’s stance towards him. Sancho will also miss the next Premier League game because Villa’s opponent is Manchester United, and per loan avoidance rules, the 25-year-old English winger is ineligible to play.
Reports indicate that in the loan agreement reached between Villa and Manchester United in September, Villa agreed to cover 80% of Sancho’s high wages from Old Trafford, with bonus clauses easily met to cover his entire salary. Therefore, if Manchester United can sell Sancho in the January window, Villa will be happy to facilitate the deal.

Villa has already signed Brazilian winger Alisson from Grêmio for £10.5 million, and Alisson may take Sancho’s spot in the squad for the latter half of the season. Consequently, Emery does not mind returning Sancho early, which would save £2.5 million in wages.
