Vietnamese football aims to cooperate with the DPR Korea and Uzbekistan

Vietnam Football Federation President Trần Quốc Tuấn held meetings with the heads of the DPR Korea and Uzbekistan Football Federations, looking towards future collaboration.

During the ongoing meeting of FIFA’s functional committees in Doha, the President of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Trần Quốc Tuấn – a member of the FIFA Competitions Committee for national teams for the 2025-2029 term, an Executive Committee member of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and VFF General Secretary Nguyễn Văn Phú – a member of the AFC and FIFA Medical Committee, engaged in discussions with the leadership of the DPR Korea and Uzbekistan Football Federations to lay the groundwork for future cooperation.

In talks with the Vice President of the DPR Korea Football Federation, both sides exchanged information and expressed their desire to strengthen cooperation in women’s football development through exchanges, training camps, and professional expertise sharing. DPR Korea’s football teams, both men’s and women’s, regularly rank among Asia’s top teams and have frequently participated in World Cup finals, especially excelling and having a strong tradition in women’s football.

Meanwhile, in the meeting with the Executive Vice President of the Uzbekistan Football Federation, VFF President Trần Quốc Tuấn discussed potential cooperation in youth football development, women’s football, and futsal. Uzbekistan is regarded as one of Asia’s dynamically developing football nations, with a well-structured youth training system that has achieved notable successes at various youth national team levels in recent years.

The discussions took place in an open and constructive atmosphere, demonstrating a long-term cooperative goodwill among the federations, aiming to share experiences, improve training quality, competition standards, and football management. These are seen as important initial contacts, opening prospects for positive cooperation in the future, contributing to raising the quality and status of Vietnamese football regionally and continentally.

The exchanges alongside the activities of FIFA continue to affirm VFF’s proactive approach to integration and expanding international cooperation, thereby creating more opportunities to learn, enhance professional standards, and promote sustainable development of Vietnamese football in the coming period.
