Forward Mohamed Salah has apologized to his Liverpool teammates after his comments criticizing the club, confirming that the team has moved past the disagreement and come back together.
After several turbulent days caused by his controversial statements, Mohamed Salah took the initiative to apologize to his Liverpool teammates. Midfielder Curtis Jones revealed that the Egyptian star showed humility and was forgiven by the whole squad, ending the incident that shook the “Reds” dressing room earlier this month.
Previously, Salah sparked public uproar when he criticized Liverpool’s coaching staff after the 3-3 draw with Leeds United, claiming he was “thrown under the bus” and “stripped of a key role in the team.” Being left on the bench for three consecutive matches left the 33-year-old striker visibly disappointed, even revealing that his relationship with coach Arne Slot “was no longer as good as before.”
However, the atmosphere at Liverpool quickly healed. Salah returned to play in the 2-0 victory over Brighton, contributing an important assist, and shortly after, he openly apologized to his teammates in the dressing room.
Curtis Jones recounted to Sky Sports: “Mo is a responsible man. He told the team: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I apologize.’ That’s Mo’s sincere nature, always focused on the collective.”
Jones confirmed there is no internal conflict; instead, the team has grown closer following this episode. “He remains the Salah we know—always smiling, positive, and hungry for victory. At Liverpool, every emotion comes from the desire to contribute to the team,” Jones emphasized.
Coach Arne Slot also confirmed the matter has been resolved: “We have talked, everything is fine. There’s no issue that needs addressing.”
Currently, Salah has joined the Egyptian national team preparing for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, while Liverpool is gearing up for an away match against Tottenham, determined to extend their unbeaten streak. After the turmoil, Anfield seems to have regained its peace along with the familiar image of Mohamed Salah rising above adversity.
