Manchester United is working hard to secure Bournemouth's Antoine Semaño, with Italian transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano characterizing the Red Devils’ efforts as relentless "pushing and pushing and pushing." At present, Manchester United and Manchester City lead the bidding, though Liverpool could enter the competition shortly after confirming Isaac’s ankle and shin operations.

Semaño’s contract with Bournemouth includes a £65 million release clause effective in January, with £60 million fixed and £5 million variable. Therefore, any club activating this clause can bypass Bournemouth and negotiate directly with the player. The key factor now is Semaño’s own decision.
Manchester United correspondent Andy Mitten revealed that Semaño is an Arsenal supporter, but Arteta’s team has no plans to sign him this winter and would at earliest consider it next summer. This opens a window for Manchester United, as although Semaño doesn’t dream of the Red Devils, most of his close circle are strong Manchester United fans!
Mitten said: "Manchester United is eager to sign Semaño, believing he can improve the squad. I've spoken to many people about him, and he is actually an Arsenal fan. But I’ve learned Arsenal currently don’t want him, so we will try our best to convince him to join. Other clubs are also interested—Tottenham have the money, and Manchester City and Liverpool are both keen."
He added: "Semaño is surrounded by many Manchester United supporters and has maintained connections with some die-hard Red Devils fans over the years. So, he has gradually come to understand just how influential Manchester United is. When considering his next club, he might want to be part of reviving the UK’s undisputed biggest club."

Before the match against Arsenal, Semaño openly declared his support for the Gunners. Speaking about the team he supports, he said: "I am an Arsenal fan, but I don’t let that interfere with my job. Playing against Arsenal is fantastic; I have followed this team since I was young. I also want to play for a top club, and to achieve that, I need to prove myself."
Manchester United can offer Semaño a starting position, whereas at Manchester City he would face tough competition. Opinions differ on whether United’s weekly wage offer is the highest; the account nicknamed "Green Hat Brother" (indykaila News) claims the Red Devils made the most attractive deal, while Laurie Whitwell from Athletic says United’s offer is not the top one.
Whitwell explained: "I think wages are interesting because Manchester United might not be able to offer as much as other clubs. United’s cash flow is limited, but they have been interested in Semaño for a long time. If players like Cunha and Mbemou want to join United, that would be an advantage. Still, this will be a difficult deal for United, not only due to financial constraints but also because other top clubs are interested."
Romano revealed that on Monday both Manchester United and Manchester City contacted Semaño again, and the Manchester transfer derby continues this winter. Guardiola plans to use Semaño as a winger, so Amolin might have to abandon plans to convert him into a left wing-back and adjust the 3-4-3 formation, since Semaño aspires to play as a number 9, or at least as a winger on either flank.

Sky Sports’ Lyle Thomas claims Semaño will decide his future this week. His release clause expires on January 10 next year, so this won’t be a prolonged transfer saga but rather a short story quickly reaching its conclusion.
