VFF takes action regarding the Vietnamese player with a torn ligament

The leadership of the Vietnam Football Federation visits and encourages U16 national futsal player Nguyễn Văn Lực.

On the morning of January 22, Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation Nguyễn Minh Châu represented the federation’s leaders to visit and support goalkeeper Nguyễn Văn Lực of the Vietnam U16 futsal team, who recently underwent surgery for an injury at Vinmec Smart City International General Hospital (Hanoi).

Nguyễn Văn Lực unfortunately suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his right knee during the opening match of the Vietnam U16 futsal team at the 2025 Southeast Asia U16 Futsal Championship and had to undergo surgery.

The surgery was performed at Vinmec, which hosts a team of highly experienced experts in sports medicine, who have successfully treated many top Vietnamese football athletes. Most recently, goalkeeper Đoàn Tuấn Phong of the Vietnam U19 futsal team, who also suffered a knee ligament injury, was operated on and treated at Vinmec following the 2025 Southeast Asia U19 Futsal Championship.

During the visit, on behalf of the federation’s leadership, Deputy General Secretary Nguyễn Minh Châu encouraged goalkeeper Nguyễn Văn Lực to maintain a positive spirit, strictly follow the treatment plan, and persistently undergo rehabilitation to return to training and competition soon. Additionally, the Deputy General Secretary affirmed that the federation will continue to closely monitor the treatment process and promptly provide necessary support to ensure the best conditions for the young player during his recovery period.

On this occasion, the federation’s leaders also expressed their gratitude to the Vinmec Health System, especially the team of experts and the Vinmec Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Center, for their continuous and effective support in examination, treatment, and surgery of injuries for national players over the years.

The close cooperation between the Vietnam Football Federation and Vinmec further highlights the important role of sports medicine in protecting health and treating injuries for Vietnamese football players in general and national teams in particular.
