SLNA, Viettel, and Hà Tĩnh are three out of four teams that have qualified for the semifinals of the 2025/2026 U19 National Championship final stage.
The first teams to reach the semifinals of the U19 National Championship – Modern Cup 2025/26 have been confirmed following convincing victories.
In the opening quarter-final match, Sông Lam Nghệ An faced off against Ho Chi Minh City with no surprises. At the 18th minute, Đình Bưởi committed a foul against Quang Linh inside the penalty area, resulting in a penalty kick awarded to Sông Lam Nghệ An. From the spot, Hoàng Minh Hợi calmly scored the opening goal for the Nghệ An team.
The second half saw Ho Chi Minh City putting in effort, but the southern side lacked the necessary effectiveness. At the 81st minute, Viết Duy skillfully dribbled past two defenders before unleashing a sharp shot to double Sông Lam Nghệ An’s lead. In the final stoppage time, Viết Duy again displayed excellent ball control to seal a sweet 3-0 victory for Sông Lam Nghệ An.
Another title contender, Thể Công Viettel I, went up against PVF. Despite being favored, Thể Công Viettel I faced significant challenges in this match. The first 45 minutes ended goalless.
In the second half, Thể Công Viettel I boldly employed aerial plays, which proved effective. At the 61st minute, from a right-wing cross by a teammate, captain Hoàng Công Hậu rose high to head in a beautiful goal, opening the scoring for Thể Công Viettel I. PVF tried to attack for the remainder of the game but failed to score and accepted a 0-1 defeat.
Meanwhile, Hanoi faced Hồng Lĩnh Hà Tĩnh, a team known for its tough playing style. At the 30th minute, Nguyễn Thiên Phú delivered a precise finish to put Hanoi ahead. This goal remained the only one in the match.
The last team to join the semifinals will be determined after the quarter-final match between hosts PVF-CAND and HAGL, scheduled for 5 PM the same day.
