By beating The Cong Viettel with a 2-0 score, U19 SLNA has officially earned the first spot in the 2026 U19 National Championship final tournament.
As the most convincing team since the start of the competition, Song Lam Nghe An confidently entered the semifinal against The Cong Viettel I. The Nghe An team played aggressively and tightly, rarely allowing the opponent any dangerous attacks. However, The Cong Viettel I were not easy to overcome. They defended with focus and patiently waited for sharp counterattacks towards Song Lam Nghe An’s goal.
But this match was one where Hoang Minh Hoi – the star of Song Lam Nghe An – continued to demonstrate his ability. He played excellently and helped Song Lam Nghe An control the midfield well. Nevertheless, the first half gradually approached its final minutes without any goals, and the two teams went into halftime tied.
In the second half, Song Lam Nghe An continued to attack more impressively, and what had to happen did happen. In the 64th minute, from Anh Dung’s pass, Tan Minh skillfully lobbed the ball from outside the penalty area to beautifully open the scoring for Song Lam Nghe An. This goal allowed coach Nguyen Hong Viet’s team to plan more comfortably.
The Nghe An representatives gradually dropped back to defend while The Cong Viettel I had to push forward to attack. In the 71st minute, Song Lam Nghe An launched a quick counterattack. After a save by The Cong Viettel I’s goalkeeper, Hoang Minh Hoi rushed in to tap the ball close to the goal, doubling the lead. In the remaining minutes, The Cong Viettel I’s efforts were unrewarded. Van Thai and his teammates missed chances to reduce the deficit and had to accept watching Song Lam Nghe An secure their place in the final.
U19 Song Lam Nghe An’s opponent in the final of the U19 National Championship will be decided after the first semifinal between hosts U19 PVF-CAND and U19 Hanoi, taking place at 5 PM the same day.
