The Vietnam women's national team is scheduled to play two key friendly games with Uzbekistan on January 27 and 30.
The Vietnam women's team has been maintaining an intensive training routine at the Vietnam Youth Football Training Center in recent days, aiming to prepare optimally for the upcoming 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup finals in Australia. According to the plan, the Vietnam women's national team will play two friendly matches against the Uzbekistan women's team on January 27 and 30 to evaluate the squad and assemble the lineup.
Regarding the morale of herself and the entire team after a long training period, young midfielder Cù Thị Huỳnh Như shared: “Currently, both my spirit and that of my teammates are very good and relaxed. The whole team will continue to train hard every day aiming to achieve the best results at the 2026 AFC Women's Asian Cup finals.”
According to the midfielder born in 2000, the training regimen during this period was designed by the coaching staff to combine physical fitness and technical skills. “In the mornings, the coaching staff focuses the team on physical exercises. In the afternoons, the team practices tactical techniques, formations, and movement plans to perfect the overall playing style,” Như shared.
When evaluating the differences in training content compared to previous camps, Cù Thị Huỳnh Như said the plan hasn’t changed much, but the entire team still emphasizes improving physical fitness to meet the demands of continental competition.
Recently, Hanoi's weather has been colder than usual compared to the southern region, so as a player from Long An and playing for Ho Chi Minh City women's football club, Cù Thị Huỳnh Như has faced some difficulties: “At first, it was a bit uncomfortable, but we gradually adapted and always pay attention to keeping warm to ensure the best condition for each training session.”
Speaking about coach Mai Đức Chung's consistent presence on the training field despite the cold weather, the midfielder born in 2000 expressed her respect: “Every training session, Coach Mai Đức Chung is dedicated and strives to convey the best to us. Therefore, the whole team also works hard to train seriously to repay his trust and enthusiasm.”
Regarding the competition for positions within the Vietnam women's national team, this player believes opportunities are open to all members: “Everyone has a chance to play. The important thing is that each person must train diligently every day, then the opportunity will come.”
