Since joining Lyon on loan from Real Madrid, Endrick rapidly became the focal point and kept shining with a hat-trick in the 5-2 win against Metz in Ligue 1.
Endrick opened the scoring in the 11th minute by calmly finishing with his favored left foot after a cross from captain Corentin Tolisso. In first-half injury time, he completed his brace. Receiving a through ball from Tyler Morton on the right wing, Endrick cut inside, controlled the ball with both feet, and coolly slid it past goalkeeper Jonathan Fischer, who was helpless again in the one-on-one situation.
Not stopping there, Endrick earned a penalty in the 87th minute after a skillful sequence of quick footwork and switches. He took the penalty himself, deceiving goalkeeper Fischer to complete his hat-trick.
Endrick’s hat-trick not only secured Lyon all three points away but also etched the Brazilian forward into the club’s history as the youngest player in Lyon’s history to score a hat-trick in Ligue 1.
At 19 years and 188 days old, Endrick surpassed the previous record held by Bernard Lacombe (19 years and 196 days). In the 21st century, only Jeremy Menez, Kylian Mbappe, and Ousmane Dembele have scored Ligue 1 hat-tricks at a younger age than Endrick.
In the match against Metz, Endrick demonstrated sharpness by scoring three goals and registering six shots on target, the highest number by a Lyon player in Ligue 1 since Opta began tracking data in the 2006–07 season, matching Alexandre Lacazette’s record against Monaco in 2016.
The 5-2 win over Metz helped Lyon solidify their fourth place in the Ligue 1 standings. The other two goals were scored by defender Ruben Kluivert and midfielder Tyler Morton in the match coached by Paulo Fonseca.
Endrick joined Lyon on loan from Real Madrid in the second half of the 2025–26 season and quickly made a strong impression. The 19-year-old striker has scored 4 goals and provided 1 assist in just 3 matches for Lyon across all competitions, marking the best start by a Lyon player since Mariano Diaz in August 2017. Notably, Endrick also became the 25th Brazilian to score for Lyon in Ligue 1, further extending the legacy of South American players at the French club.
Before moving to Lyon, Endrick struggled to secure a starting spot at Real Madrid. However, his brilliant performances in Ligue 1 prove that Lyon’s decision to loan the young Brazilian forward was absolutely right.
