Vice President of the Vietnam Football Federation, Trần Anh Tú, offered encouragement and set responsibilities for the Vietnam futsal team.
On the afternoon of January 26, Vice President Trần Anh Tú was present in Jakarta to directly observe and work with the Vietnam futsal team as they prepare for the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship campaign. This trip took place immediately after he completed duties with the Vietnam U23 team at the 2026 AFC U23 Championship.
Before the final training session ahead of their opening match against Kuwait’s futsal team (5:00 PM on January 27), Vice President Trần Anh Tú, on behalf of the VFF leadership, motivated and encouraged Coach Diego Giustozzi and his players to compete with the utmost determination, emphasizing the need for strong resilience and fighting spirit.
Vice President Trần Anh Tú recalled the courageous performance of the Vietnam U23 team, especially in the third-place match against South Korea U23, considering it a model for the Vietnam futsal team to emulate.
Vice President Trần Anh Tú stressed the importance of never giving up, that the tougher the challenge, the more the team must demonstrate their willpower and desire to contribute, viewing this as a foundational element for the entire team’s journey at the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship.
Alongside encouragement, the VFF leadership also set clear objectives for the entire squad. The initial goal is to secure a spot in the quarterfinals, and then strive to advance as far as possible in the tournament. Vice President Trần Anh Tú highlighted the critical importance of the first two group stage matches against Kuwait and Lebanon, urging players to maintain maximum focus and perform with the highest level of spirit, skill, and responsibility whenever they are on the field.
After the discussion, the Vietnam futsal team proceeded with tactical training. Coach Diego Giustozzi dedicated most of the session to refining strategies for the upcoming match against Kuwait, giving detailed instructions on gameplay organization, player movement, and coordination in order to ensure defensive solidity and attacking efficiency, preparing fully for the opening game at the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship.
