Opening of the first mid-season training program for Supervisors and Referees of the 2025/26 National Professional Football Leagues
On the afternoon of January 26, at the headquarters of the Vietnam Football Federation, the opening ceremony of the first mid-season training program for Supervisors and Referees of the 2025/26 National Professional Football Leagues took place, jointly organized by the VFF and the Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF).
The training program is held to review the supervision and refereeing work during the first half of the 2025/26 season; to agree on handling methods for typical situations that have arisen; to continue enhancing and updating professional knowledge, as well as to conduct theoretical and physical fitness tests to assess the readiness of supervisors and referees before entering the second half of the season.
Representing the VFF Referees Committee, Mr. Dang Thanh Ha stated that organizing mid-season training is a professional practice aimed at helping the supervisory and refereeing team review the management of the first 11 rounds of the first half, analyze remaining issues, unify the application of Laws and FIFA guidelines, thereby improving officiating quality for the rest of the season.
Speaking to the press on the sidelines of the ceremony, Referees Committee Chief Dang Thanh Ha assessed that refereeing over the first 11 rounds generally met requirements, but there are still situations needing further review, especially decisions involving VAR interventions. The Referees Committee will focus on analyzing controversial cases, while emphasizing player protection and strict handling of violent conduct and negative reactions towards referees to maintain the professional image of the competitions.
According to the plan, the first training session will end on January 29. Referees who meet standards will continue to be appointed to officiate matches in V.League 1, with the 12th round starting on January 30.
The second training session for supervisors and referees officiating the National First Division is expected to be held in March 2026 in Ho Chi Minh City.
