Mid-season training for match supervisors of the 2025/26 national professional football league
During the training session, Mr. Nguyen Van Phu – General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation – highly praised the role of the match supervisors. General Secretary Nguyen Van Phu emphasized that the detailed and timely reports and observations from the match supervisors are crucial for the Organizing Committee to understand the actual situation and issue appropriate directives. He urged the match supervisors to honestly acknowledge and learn from existing issues while continuing to improve the quality of their reports, ensuring they fully and accurately reflect all relevant aspects throughout their duties during matches.
Mr. Vo Van Hung, Deputy General Director of VPF and Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee for the 2025/26 National Professional Football Leagues, also stressed the requirement for match supervisors to maintain close cooperation with the Organizing Committee, proactively enhance their knowledge, and thoroughly grasp the rules and regulations of the League’s Charter. Furthermore, maintaining regular communication with VPF’s technical departments and the Organizing Committee is considered a key factor to ensure effective management and organization of upcoming competitions.
The mid-season training class was fully attended by the professional match supervisors currently assigned to duties. The program focused on reviewing and learning from shortcomings in supervision, coordination, and match organization during the past rounds of the 2025/26 season. Additionally, time was allocated to share practical experiences in match supervision and management, especially discussing solutions to handle unexpected incidents objectively arising during matches.
Up to now, the 2025/26 National Professional Football Leagues have reached nearly halfway through the season, with 11 out of 26 rounds completed in V.League 1-2025/26, 7 out of 22 rounds in the First Division 2025/26, and the qualification and round of 16 in the 2025/26 National Cup concluded. Overall, matches have been organized as planned, meeting professional standards as well as security and safety requirements.
After a break period, the competitions will officially resume from this weekend (January 30, 2026). The mid-season training aims to supplement and update knowledge, unify procedures, and enhance experience exchange between match supervisors and VPF’s technical team.
With thorough preparation and a strong sense of responsibility, the training program is expected to contribute to improving the capacity of the match supervisors, aiming for a successful 2025/26 National Professional Football League season that ensures quality, safety, and professionalism.
