With the £2 billion super stadium project, Manchester United is projected to earn the biggest stadium naming rights deal in the history of English football, outstripping Arsenal and Tottenham.
In the context of The Red Devils are showing a strong resurgence in the Premier League standings, another financial boost has just arrived for the Old Trafford club.
According to the latest report from sports finance experts, the new 100,000-seat stadium project—dubbed the "Wembley of the North"—will generate a record-breaking revenue from stadium naming rights for Manchester United.
Specifically, the study from the "European Stadium Naming Rights Market Fair Value Report" indicates that Man Utd could bring in more than £175 million from a 10-year sponsorship deal. On average, the Red Devils would pocket about £15 million annually just from the stadium's name.
This figure officially crowns the Manchester club as the top in England, surpassing the national Wembley Stadium and Arsenal’s Emirates (currently earning £12.5 million per year). Notably, this value is double the actual valuation of Tottenham Hotspur's stadium (£11 million per year).
Explaining this "huge" valuation, experts believe that the project is not merely a construction endeavor. It is a combination of massive redevelopment scale, world-class modern infrastructure, and the undeniable global influence of the Manchester United brand.
If the club maintains its top-tier status and regularly participates in the UEFA Champions League, the actual contract value could even exceed the projected £175 million.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, leading this ambitious project, shared his passionate vision for the new stadium design. He emphasized that the goal is not only financial but also to recreate the intense atmosphere characteristic of the old Trafford.
Unlike stadiums separated by running tracks, Sir Jim wants fans to stand just 5 meters from the pitch edge with a vertical stand design. This creates a true "cauldron," where the sound and enthusiasm of the supporters become part of the victory.
Although Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu currently holds the title of Europe’s most valuable stadium name (£18.5 million per year), with the Premier League’s growth and appeal, "New Trafford" could soon close the gap.
With this record income, Man Utd will have abundant financial resources to reinvest in the squad, firmly consolidating their status as a leading global football power both on and off the pitch.
