'Vietnamese football's "Superman" immediately scores for his brand-new team

"Superman" Trần Gia Huy found the net on his first appearance, contributing to Phú Thọ Club's 3-0 win against Quảng Ninh in the 2025/26 First Division.

Returning after a long break, The 2025/26 National First Division witnessed an impressive start from Phú Thọ Club as they defeated Quảng Ninh 3-0 at home. The highlight of the match was not only the decisive win but also the memorable debut of midfielder Trần Gia Huy – famously known as the "Superman" of Vietnamese football.

Preparing for the second half of the season, Phú Thọ strengthened their squad with five new signings during the more than two-month break. Coach Lê Quốc Vượng surprised many by starting all the new players in the eighth round. Among them, Trần Gia Huy quickly became the focal point due to his energy, ability to control the tempo, and determined spirit.

Dominating the game against an opponent missing their head coach due to suspension, the home team controlled the match early on. In the 38th minute, defender Hoàng Trung Anh opened the scoring with a skillful run followed by a precise finish. In the second half, the game was fully under Phú Thọ’s control, allowing the new players to showcase their individual talents.

At minute 61, Trần Gia Huy made a strong impression with a beautiful direct free-kick, increasing the score to 2-0. His debut goal not only extended Phú Thọ’s lead but also marked an emotional comeback for the midfielder born in 2003. Minutes later, foreign player Richmond Nji sealed the 3-0 victory for the hosts at Việt Trì stadium.

Joining Xuân Thiện Phú Thọ from HAGL in the second half of the season, Trần Gia Huy is considered a strategic addition to strengthen the midfield. Noticed from a young age due to his unique physique when joining HAGL JMG, Gia Huy has undergone a remarkable transformation, now standing over 1.75m tall with excellent fitness levels.

After struggling for years in V.League, Gia Huy rediscovered himself in the First Division, having revived strongly with Hòa Bình FC.
