Vietnam National Team accomplishes the essential task before facing Thailand

The Vietnam futsal squad conducted a technical briefing prior to their important game versus Thailand in the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship.

Vietnam’s futsal team gathered to discuss strategy and formulate plans for the decisive "clash" with Thailand in the final group B match of the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship.

Previously, after securing early qualification to the quarterfinals with two consecutive wins over Kuwait and Lebanon, the Vietnam futsal team prepared for the last group stage match with a relaxed mindset and high spirits. The training session on the afternoon of January 30th with coach Diego Giustozzi’s squad took place in a light atmosphere filled with laughter.

Due to a tight schedule with matches every two days, the coaching staff deliberately reduced training intensity. Players mainly performed warm-up and light exercises to recover physically and regain balance after the previous intense game. Before the afternoon session, the entire team also engaged in recovery activities in the morning at the pool and gym.

On January 31st, the Vietnam futsal team will play their final group stage match against Thailand, a game that will determine the top spot in Group B. Preparing for this encounter, coach Diego Giustozzi implemented tactical measures to limit the opponent’s powerful attack while also planning personnel strategies to preserve the squad for the quarterfinals.

Regarding the squad situation, Duong Ngoc Linh will miss the upcoming match due to suspension. Meanwhile, pivot Nguyen Thinh Phat is experiencing health issues and continues to be closely monitored by the medical team.With a relaxed mindset and proactive preparation, the Vietnam futsal team approaches the final group match with strong determination, ready to compete for the top position against host Thailand.

Speaking before the last group match against Thailand, coach Diego Giustozzi acknowledged the strength of the opponent. However, his team remains confident and at ease since their goal of advancing past the group stage of the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship has already been achieved.
